Round Up to Save FAQs

How does Round Up to Save work?
Every time you make a purchase using your Fidelity Bank checking account, we round up the total to the next dollar. The difference is automatically moved into your Fidelity Bank savings account.
 
Is there a limit to how much I can save with Round Up to Save?
There is no specific limit on how much you can save using Round Up to Save. Your savings will grow based on how frequently you make purchases and how much spare change is rounded up with each transaction.
 
Can I turn the Round Up to Save feature on and off?
Yes, you can easily enable or disable the Round Up to Save feature through your Fidelity Bank app or online banking.

How do I make a donation?
Donating to a new charity is easy! You can send funds to any of our participating Community Partners. It's just another way Fidelity Bank is supporting our local community and making it easy for our clients to do the same. You have the option to share your information with the nonprofit or keep your donation anonymous.
 
The minimum donation amount is $5. Here’s how to get started:
  • Log in to your digital banking platform
  • Navigate to the Spare Change for Good tab in the navigation menu
  • Click “Flexible Giving: One-Time Donation”
  • Click "Find Your Charity or Cause"
  • Click "Fidelity's Highlighted Nonprofits"
  • Choose from the list of recommended local Community Partners that support the cause you care about
  • Specify the amount you would like to donate
  • Click "Give to this charity"
  • Choose the account you would like to donate from (Checking, Savings, etc.)
  • Choose the frequency of your donation
  • Review your donation and applicable fees
  • You may choose to pay the fee within your donation amount or pay the fee in addition to your donation
  • Click “Yes, I confirm”
  • Donations may not be returned to you once submitted
Do you share my personal information with the nonprofits?
During the donation process, your customers will be prompted with the option to share their information or donate anonymously. Donor information is readily available for nonprofits that are partners of the Spiral Giving Network (SGN). If the nonprofit is not a partner, they are able to request a report with all donor information. If the end-user has chosen to donate anonymously, their data will not be available or shared with any nonprofit.
 
How do I know it is going to the right nonprofit?
During the time of the donation, you are able to search for the nonprofit of your choice. The most accurate way to do this is with the EIN of the nonprofit.
 
How can I set up a recurring donation?
  • Log in to your digital banking platform
  • Click "+ Add new charity" or manage previous donations
    • Choose from the list of recommended local Community Partners that support the cause you care about
  • Click "Give to this charity"
  • Choose the amount you would like to donate
  • Choose if you would like to give on a monthly basis
  • Choose a future date you would like your recurring donation to start
    • You cannot start a recurring donation on the same day
  • Review your donation and applicable fees
    • You may choose to pay the fee within your donation or pay the fee in addition to your donation
  • Click “Give my donation”
  • Your donation will be sent from your account each month
  • Donations may not be returned to you once submitted
How do I manage my recurring donation?
Once you are in the Spare Change for Good Center, your recurring donations are available on that dashboard. If you click the gear icon, then “Edit My Impact”, you can then choose to pause or stop the donations to that nonprofit. Here’s how:
  • Log in to your digital banking platform
  • Navigate to the Spare Change for Good tab in the navigation menu
  • Click “Round Up to Save & Give”
  • Navigate to Recurring Donations
  • Review the list of charities you automatically give to every month
  • Click "Manage your support"
  • From this page you can:
    • Adjust your monthly recurring donation amount
    • Pause your monthly recurring donation
      • Your monthly donation will remain paused until you choose to resume your monthly donation
    • Stop your monthly recurring donation
    • or Resume your monthly recurring donation
  • Click Finish
What if a charity is not listed?
Only charities the IRS recognizes as tax-exempt on https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/ and not disqualified by Spiral or your financial institution will be listed..

Our Community Partners are organizations that we’ve carefully selected for their positive contributions to the communities we serve, allowing us to ensure transparency, accountability, and meaningful support to causes that matter most locally.
 
Why is there a fee for my donation?
Processing fees are associated with the handling and security measures involved in transferring funds securely from their account to ours. These fees are imposed by financial institutions and payment processors to ensure the smooth and secure processing of transactions.

The fees charged by Spiral Giving Network are lower than the industry standard which typically range from 3% - 8% on average.
 

General FAQs

Do you share my personal information with the nonprofits?
Donor information is readily available for nonprofits that are partners of the Spiral Giving Network (SGN). If the nonprofit is not a partner, they can request a report with all donor information.
 
How can I stop rounding up/How do I unenroll from Round Up to Save & Give?
You can go into the module and turn off your roundups whenever you see fit. You can also restart them by following the opt-in flow that you originally completed. Here’s how:
  • Log in to your digital banking platform
  • Navigate to the Spare Change for Good tab in the navigation menu
  • Click “Round Up to Save & Give”
  • Click the gear icon
  • Click "Turn off Roundups"
  • Switch the toggle “off” to unenroll in Round Up to Save & Give
  • All future purchases will not round up once this feature has been disabled
How do I get a receipt for my round-ups?
Everyday Impact provides receipts every month by the 5th business day of every month. These will be viewable in the module.

Can I change how I am rounding up my funds?
You can change your designated roundup choice at any time.

What is the Spiral Giving Network (SGN)?
Fidelity Bank has partnered with the Spiral Giving Network (SGN) to provide our online banking clients with a convenient feature that allows you to round up spare change from every transaction. You can choose to either transfer the rounded-up amount into your savings account or make charitable donations to our Fidelity Bank Community Partners directly through our platform. This effortless process helps you save while also making it easy to support the causes you care about. All donations are securely processed and distributed in collaboration with SGN, ensuring that your contributions make a meaningful impact.
 

Donation Process FAQs

When does a charity receive a donation, what is the process?
When a customer donates through Spare Change For Good, funds are moved to your bank's General Ledger or Clearing Account (1-2 days processing). Tax receipts are issued to customers by Spiral Giving Network immediately after a donation is made.

Once the funds have been fully processed, they are transferred to Spiral Giving Network (SGN) and accumulated over time (1-30 days). Donation distributions for each nonprofit organization are processed on a monthly basis in alignment with SGN Terms and Conditions.
 
SGN grants to Qualifying Charities will be distributed via ACH or mailed check. It may take up to 45 days from the date of the customer’s contribution to SGN for a grant to be distributed to a Qualifying Charity.
